Politics this time around

This time around, politics have become even more entertaining yet sad. A little about me - I've never affiliated with any party - however, this time around; I've chosen the Republican party due to the antics of moveon.org, code pink, and other anti-American groups who are funded by George Soros. I've even been approached by a couple of members who have said, "You'll get paid to do this." I asked, "To do what?" The response was, "To create as much havoc as we can."
I was approached by this individual who I only know as "Piper". I was in Washington, DC in 2007 when General Petraeus was expected in DC to make his evaluation of "The Surge".
Anyone who has watched the news over this past weekend, have seen the war protestors who have broken windows, attacked police officers, and even broken police care windshields and windows. They are protesting war by violence? AND, they are being paid to do so? Our soldiers and their families must be proud of the freedom they are providing these people.
I think Barack Obama has the potential of being a pretty good president - but, he is young enough to learn and become committed to something. He has voted "present" over 100 times on legislation - not "yes" or "no" - but "present". I would like to see him make a stand on these issues - not talk about change he intends to bring. He's not worked with both sides "dems" or "pubs" - he's the #1 Liberal in the Senate - Biden is the #3 Liberal - this means they vote almost exclusively only down party lines. Part of the reason "pubs" aren't totally excited about John McCain is because he's worked with both sides trying to find the correct solution - not the "party" solution.
As Obama has spoken of change - he has the best opportunity ever to author change in the Senate with the "dems" in the majority. He could get it done and passed right now and prove to us his "change" is significant. What is he waiting for? Now, there is significant chatter Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin does not have "foreign affairs" experience. That's just one issue on the plate of the President and Vice President. This past summer, the "surge" and Iraq have fallen off the front pages and the nightly news and virtually ever newscast, magazine or paper. Obama still cannot admit the "surge" is working - this presents a major problem - he can't give credit where credit is due - our troops and their families for fighting hard and sacrificing everything. When he was in the military... oops, he never was - or, any of his family. Don't go there - not a fair comparison. These men and women and their families deserve to be given great credit for their sacrifices - some things, like Hurricane Gustav, are about us as Americans - not "dems" or "pubs"- our freedom is part of that. Getting bored yet? Probably and even mad if you are supporting Obama. I challenge those of you who are totally committed to Obama - check out Rush, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, Hannity - you won't like it - but, it's the other side. Let's role play here - let's say you've been picked up for some minor offense - being held by the police - misunderstood and declared guilty - but, you know you are not - in court, they decide to just hear the prosecution - not your defense and then make the determination - you don't get to give your side. You are declared guilty and required to pay the penalty. Would that be fair? Absolutely, you would say - NO - but, that's what you are doing if you don't take the time to check out "the other side".
My challenge with this blog is to do just that - if you say you are educated, fair and want the best for you and your family - and, NOT being paid to riot - check out more than just one source of your news. But, don't just do that for 5 minutes and say you have. As with Obama - he can't bring himself to say he was wrong on "the surge", Rev. Wright, Tony Resko, and all the "presents" he's recorded. Can you?
Go ahead and talk the talk, walk the walk about change and Obama - but, when the curtain closes and you vote - you don't have to answer to anyone but you and your family. That's when you have to be okay with yourself. Thanks for reading - go ahead and beat me up on how off base I am - I served 23 years in the Armed Forces to preserve your right...
